Default TH350 speedometer drive with wire

I just pulled the dead TH350 out of my 72 Firebird and found a wire coming out of the speedometer drive housing. I’ve never seen this before, what is it for?

Thanks,
Dave

TCS (transmission controlled spark) uses the sensor to allow vac advance above 38MPH.
