What did your HP engine make ? Well north of 1100HP I think. Was,t it 1150ish horsepower?
So you are spending close to 10K to "not" gain 50 HP ? Jessels and Barton are not cheap.

My normal race schedule is what amounts to 26-28 races a year. 2 classes at 12-14 races adds up.
Only reason I am not running now is my 461 just got back from machine shop. Putting it on engine stand today. Took crank to get balanced yesterday.
I could race the old 455 is a retired it from racing last year. I would be crushed if I raced it one more time and blew it up after such a long run. That pic I took with all the trophies was with one engine. But its last run was its best ever.
At the most this year I might take it out for a few passes to make sure the trans and rear and brakes are good to go after freshening. Do not want new engine on top of all that to worry about all at once.

Man you have no clue. Don't let facts get in your way. I've posted my dyno sheets here, hell your buddy Gach even posted one lol. Search around if you care for facts.

Just tell us your highest HP for that engine. I sure do not want to start that dyno sheet mess.

Brian,
I do not know what was your highest, I have a sheet that shows 1048 HP @ 8000 RPM.

How is your 900hp pg build coming along? You should make huge power with all the great parts you have.

Answering a question with a question. Your MO stays the same.
Its not like I do not want to see another 1200HP NA Pontiac, I do.
My junk ? Doing the pump gas 461 at the moment. Need intake finished, cam and oil pan. Have the rest for the 540.

No point uh ? What I am trying to figure out is what you made with your HP engine on race fuel. And the difference in expected power with new build.
Its not like you are trying and putting serious effort into your program. I count a Victor cut in half, tons of pics on that. A custom Tiger made to fit HPs. A BOP and a Gustram tunnel ram. You are chasing something or lighting money on fire.
You posted that you have the 2500$ billet pistons and the 1500$ rings to go with them. Had a lightweight billet Scat crank and now a USA made 8 counterweight deal. And top shelf rods. I don't remember steel or aluminum. And had a 50mm cam and think you now have 55mm. I bet you have to end up with close to 20K in your new heads and custom intake.
Its going to scream whatever you end up with. Looking forward to hearing the big number it puts up.
The 461 will be a 650-670HP pump gas deal.

Never had a light weight Scat crank, never had a 50mm, all the intakes i bought used (but since you counting intakes ive also owned a T1, T2, RPM, SD, and Performer intake), rings pack wasn't that expensive.
How is that you think you know so much about what im doing but have no clue how much hp it made?
Others have have made 800+ with stock block and hp heads, why not you?

OK, so which brand lightweight crank was it, Crower ?? Had some bearing issues and thought it contributed to them.
I have quite a collection of intakes myself. Need to sell some.
I have a clue how much it made. You told me in a post years ago. I was impressed. Higher than I thought.
800HP? 800HP NA stock blocks eventually crack up the middle. Whitmores last engine will live a long happy life. When the 540 gets done 461 will end up in the 79 street TA with the HOs on it.
Heck, when I am done really racing I think I will sell the E head top end, put the High Ports on the 540. Make a custom grind 55mm solid flat tappet cam, run some Mopar .904 solids and drive it out to the track when I am a geezer and run high 10 and drive home.
Not shy about my plans. Whats yours with this new engine ? It will make big power not even trying.

No crank that i have sold was a "lightened" crank, they have all been heavy turds.
