T56 pilot bushing/bearing
Morning all,
Does anyone have a pilot bushing/bearing that will work in a Pontiac 400 so I can use the Tick Plate adapter and my stock mechanical clutch linkage? Its an LS1 T56. Could potentially have a bearing made to go where the torque convertor went I suppose... Please let me know your thoughts, Joel |

The LS T56's have std GM input size of .590". You should be able to order a pilot bushing for any Muncie equipped Pontiac engine. The only issue I can see is if that adapter plate is too thick. It may require a longer pilot bushing (made to Pontiac dimensions) if so. I don't know that is readily available or not if needed,

Ok thank you. I might have found one for an amc hat would work to push the bearing back where it needs to be in relationship to the thicker plate. I am going to order and find out soon enough. It will go into the slot where the torque converter centered up, 1.7” I believe.

I did and it seems to be working well. Apologies for the delay in responding. I do not have a lot of miles on it at this point- been working out the pinion angle/driveshaft/vibration related small things now.

Which one did you go with? There are two options on that page, and I see there are some kits available as well.
