The new cars have it all over our 50+ year old ones when it comes to performance. Back in the late '70's, I got into GTO's because they were way faster than the new hot cars, like the Trans Ams and Z-28's. And Corvettes. WAY faster. 40 years later, not so. Cars today are faster than ever. That said, they are appliances.....to be discarded when used up. The plastics out-gas, the air bags expire, the computers and sensors die, and the technology is no longer supported. NOBODY will be driving a 52 year old Altima or even Porsche.....they will be inoperable. But my 100 year old GTO or that 100 year old 356 Porsche will still be viable transportation......just like my 104 year old Model T Ford is today. And yes, it's much slower than my 52 year old '67 GTO.....
