An honest lawyer would return the $50. After deducting $20 for investigative time, $5 phone surcharge, and $10 handling charge, give the old biddy the 15 bucks she is owed!

A good start!
I came here to write that, but the version I heard was 1000 lawyers chained to the bottom of the ocean.

Either way, there's plenty more where they came from!

This isn't a joke. He should return the $50 to the lady. If I had a lawyer firm I would fire him if he didn't.
So, a lawyer comes to a Pontiac forum to ask if he should give his partner part of the $50 he got mistakenly?

I would say 99.9% of people would have immediately went back to the lady and give her the $50 back and apologize for not catching the mistake when he was given the money.
(even a lawyer)

I always thought lawyers acted like Perry Mason. 35 yrs ago building homes,1hr at jobsite,$286.00.We just built his home for a very good price. Taught me a lesson, work for the poor, they need it. It's strange a lot of or all politicians are lawyers!

It amazes me some posters think this is a true story. It’s a JOKE, plain and simple.

I would take the high road on this one and either donate it at a liquor store or contribute to some young woman’s college education at a strip joint and sleep pretty good about it . Hope this helps .

No, he has an ethical duty to return $50 to her.

He isn't real, and neither is she.

Yeah, I later read the whole thread, but does it matter? An ethicist would have an answer whether real or not.

Question: What do you get when you cross a pig with a lawyer?

Answer: Nothing! There are some things that pigs will not do.

$100 for investigation, $30 for the phone call, $20 for handling and send her a bill for another $100. Remember we're talking lawyers here

Talking A joke on us all?

I am not sure what made me laugh more, the original JOKE about the new law partner, or all the church ladies and school marms that thought the JOKE was a real ethical question seeking the sage advice of a bunch of weekend Pontiac Motor Heads.

Now on to some serious legal questioning:

I was recently on direct with one of our forum members in court who was involved in a recent wreck with his '67 Four Spd Convertible GTO.

When I asked him what gear he was in at the time of the crash, he responded by saying, "I had on hightops, shorts and my shades."

Not sure what is more distressing, seeing the wrecked GTO or having to see the member in his driving attire.

Keep'em coming boys!
