Steve,I know there was one that had a numbers issue.Documented T/A but had a one number off showing a Formula.PHS documented it.Rics Restoration did the car.It was in my garage for 6 month waiting to go back east to the owner.Cant(because im old)remember if was a blue car.It was on ebay and resulted in a lot of discussions. The person that owned the one im talking about passed away and im told it got bid up to low 200s and the estate turned it down.It was at a big show a few month ago.I will find out if this is their car.Tom

Steve,
The car you're asking about was discussed in this thread: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=834842 And the car tom brought up (restored by Ric's Restoration) is the subject of this one: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=838343

Thanks, for the life of me I could not remember the color and it was in my garage for 6 month.I just remember all the controversy with the one number off vin.It had a NOM 400 in it when it was here, not a IV.The owner had a complete IV engine for the car.Tom

Yes Tom. It is a white car. It’s also probably one of the highest end restored 70 RAIV Trans Ams out there. Ric does amazing work. I can also tell you that during the restoration they found the build sheet. It’s absolutely a legitimate RAIV car. It is being offered up for sale due to the previous owner’s passing. Sad situation. He was a really good guy.

If some one could swing this, that would be such a great car to own. I know I'm stating the obvious, but Lucy Blue '70 with a stick and a RAIV doesn't get any better. The '70 I have is not an original RAIV, but it has a RAIV in it now and I absolutely love it.

There is a reason why the blue car has not sold and it does not have to do with the asking price.

Never mind. I followed one of the threads from above and found what you alluded to. Thanks for the information. Jim Last edited by napster; 03-02-2020 at 04:36 PM. Reason: Found the answer. |

I just saw this car at Autorama in Detroit, had a long discussion about it with Scott Tieman,. The restore on this vehicle is absolutely stunning. I cried. There was an excellent showing this year representing Pontiac. This 70 along with a 69 TA RAIV and a 69 GTO conv. triple black. I must admit it was great to see such a strong representation of Pontiacs at this show, in all the years I've been going I've always felt the brand was under represented.

Tony this is the same car that was at the TA Nats this past year. Ric did an amazing job on restoring it! Just a sad story with John the owner. Great guy and the hobby will miss him! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Another FWIW. There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there about N131275. This was a low option (3) Lucerne blue, std. Black interior TA sold on eBay way back in April 2004 for $80K. Previously it was on eBay in October 2003, then owned by Michael Pohl. Then September 2018 it was sold at a Worldwide Auctioneers bringing $150K. There were comments at that time about a few things that were incorrect, but nothing that most of us would consider a deal breaker for the right money.
Interesting that this was a Pontiac Zone car and apparently wasn't sold to a dealer (in New York) until February '71. |

Just noticed in the ClassicCars.com ad that, at least at the time these pics were taken, there's no rear sway bar mounted. Hmmmm...
