Default GTO Radiator

I'm doing an LS swap and I want to use a factory radiator. From what I have seen the GTO radiator has all the things I want and nothing I don't (trans cooler, steam port, no engine oil cooler, electric fans w/shroud. I have seen a lot of talk about the stock radiators having problems.

Are the stock GTO radiators any worse than other GM stock radiators as far as failures in the plastic and leaks?

Thanks,
Brandon

My 05 (bought new) has the stock radiator now 15 years old, 140,000 miles on it. I have hauled a small enclosed trailer with my car weighing 1800# down the interstate with nary any problems.

I changed the dexcool out a few years ago when the seal went bad in the water pump and replaced it with the green AF that is compatible with all antifreeze, and flushed the system at that time. Other than the seal going out of the water pump, the cooling system has been trouble free.

Hopefully that gives you some info that helps you decide on what avenue you want to pursue.
