I am getting ready to put together a 400 with a non intercooled 6-71 for my '33 Ford. My other blown Pontiac has a set of custom pistons with a thick top ring land. If I use the forged pistons that come with the Summit kit, will they live at 10#s of boost at 9.0:1 with an aluminum head?

i have no piston input but that ford is damn fine looking

I ran TRW forged piston on my first blower engine for a long, long time with no problems........6-10 lbs of boost.

I'm using Icon pistons with 10* of boost with no problems.
Gona spray it this summer too, That should be fun.LOL |

Thanks, guys. The little car is just going to be a driver and won't see a lot of abuse. I just like to worry about stuff.

Just be careful with your tune if the pistons have oil return slots instead of oil return holes in the bottom ring groove, it doesn't take much detonation to crush this type of piston.

Im running speed pro's for 13 years now without issue. You will need to run a wider ring end gap. I would check with the piston manufacture. If I remember right I ran .024 on the compression rings.
