65 exhaust manifolds
I am trying to find a good set of exhaust manifolds for my 65. All the ones I find have an extra nub on each end of the 9779328. I know they fit 65-68 so was there a change during one of those years? The first 3 pics are mine no nub the last one is what I keep finding for sale with the nubs.

Yours looks pretty good. Blast it, ceramic coat it and use it.

I read that sometime during 1965 Pontiac added the "nub". The Early 65's supposedly didn't have it and the later 65's did. The nub was also continued on the '66 manifold. Read this some where.

Interesting. That explains why 99% of the manifolds I see on ebay have the nub. Many more mid 1965 to 1968 cars were built. My car is a 12B build hence no nubs. Not going to be an easy find.

I've got a nice pair; I'll check tomorrow to see where they have the nubs or not.

Maybe some other members with early 65 builds can confirm if their exhaust manifolds have the nubs or not.

Learn something new everyday! Never realized there was a difference.
Checked my 1st week of April build and no "nubs". Checked a pile of manifolds I have collected over the years and the majority have "nubs". |

Just saw this post again and went out to the shop to check. The passenger side has the 'nubs', the driver's side doesn't.
