What ever happened to the bunch that was claiming they wanted to make "look-a-like" RA IV heads in aluminum with all the correct casting marks, and put any number you wish on there (614-722- etc..) There was a huge list of people that put their names in, including myself, wanting a set. Then it just disappeared.

It is all about ROI! Edelbrock came out with a head port version for Pontiac. Have they not since dropped that?

The idea behind it was to make a casting that looked like the iron version. Something that Edelbrock and KRE doesn't do.
I believe the thought was with the scarcity of the real thing, and the prices they bring, it might be a possible selling point for an aftermarket "look-a-like" version. Several dozen people were on board, but apparently nothing came of it. |

Do you really think if the market for them was big enough they wouldn’t make them? Seems the upfront cost is not worth the risk.

Too bad the Edelbrock weren't close enough , someone could do a cnc program or something to make them look more as cast heads. Or spend a lot of time to do it by hand

Im not the one looking for them, I just think more could be done than just adding numbers and letters if someone wanted to spend the time and money.

yes, I know looks like a freeze plug. I was talking more the the contouring on the exhaust. instead of just a flat surface.

If someone cast 50 sets of 614s in iron-steel with fast burn chambers like the High Port with the same plug location with extra room to port I think they would sell out. Its just my opinion but we all know what a success Edelbrock with their aluminum Pontiac head. Enough so they could over charge us for years selling other less popular heads for less.
It might take a little time to sell them, but they would sell. |

Let me apologize right here and now for the two sets of 722, heads, one of each 191 and 7F6 heads and one 68 1/2 number 96 casting that I have ported in my life time.
I did not realize that even though my flow bench was showing me sizable flow gains that I was fooling myself and all that effort was for nought since as you say there was no improvement. PS. King Tut WAS found in his multi shelled Coffin as all pharaoh’s had in that time, and the Mona Lisa has always been with us, in fact DaVinchi never gave it to the person he contracted with to paint it because he felt he never finished it.
