No big deal on the timing covers guys. There are still plenty of original GM covers to be had. From local swap meets to Norwalk to EBay they’re out there.

Bob,if your going to run a open hood with a SD scoop you can virtually use any AFBs.DONT cut the hood until you have the engine in and intake and carbs mocked up.I have a factory Ford-SD scoop on my 63 Lemans. The 60s pass car Pontiac AFBs I dont believe are big enough.I think they are in the 500s,the 62-63 SDs are 625 and the SD NASCAR carbs are 750.John(61-63) could give you some buick and chevy numbers that are 625s.Tom

Tom Thank you for the information on carbs and hood. That's what I need. I wont cut the hood. The Ford Super Duty scoop does give the car an 'image'. I can only imagine back in 62-63 the image!!

Is it to late to get in on the later style bath tub intake? I’m a recent subscriber and just now saw this thread. I would love to have this intake and I would definitely use it!

Got a email that said I should have a intake ready to pickup friday(???) but im not going to drive 50 miles each way on out freeways on a friday.Maybe Monday!
Guys that order a intake should start to think about a thermostat housing! They take the tripower-2-4 intake style.63 and 64s are similar but the direction are diff from each on direction.65-66 are kind of similar going toward the center.Trpower.com might have pics of all 4.Bart might have posted them on this site also.Tom |

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked today at the cover I put on the engine I am building for the bathtub intake. It has that little dimple in the cover but is an 11 bolt water pump timing cover. What year did they do away with the dimple? I have no idea what year this cover is from.

Thank you for the quick reply. I poked around on the Pontiac parts sites, Ames, Kauffman and Butler and NONE of the new 11 bolt covers they sell have the dimple provision. So it looks like old stock or nice used covers for tri=power or the 2x4's. I guess I just lucked out.

When the time comes what is everyone going to do for carb linkage. I guess we all can come up with some cobbled together version. At one time I believe Fabcraft was reproducing the correct linkage. Maybe he will be interested in producing a one time run of linkages for anyone who wants one.

That manifold looks fantastic. Appears to be a very high quality casting, it actually looks too good. The original GM bathtubs look very rough in comparison.

Thanks Tom. I did see that and they have the dimple of course. That would be a good option for some of the bathtub intake users getting the newer pattern intake as well.
