Tripower air cleaner
I picked this up along with a 64 tripower today. Seller says they are off a 64 GP with 421. I'm not seeing any numbers stamped in it. Is it a pontiac unit? What's it worth? I think these air cleaners are pretty rare?

They are not that rare. Many people ask between $500.00 - $750.00 and have them for years. One in that condition, I would start at $400.00 - $425.00 and settle for the first best realistic offer you get, or make room in the garage. It also doesn't appear to be a '64 judging by the carb openings.

1965
Probably easier to sell than a '64 and down. |

I thought 64 and 65 carb openings were the same?

Would it fit the earlier cars (1962-1964)?

1959 to 1965 have the same carb openings, not sure of the distance between carbs though.

Spacing is the same from '59-65. The various big car air cleaners had different snorkel locations to clear engine accessories. The Carburetor Shop website has good info on how to ID each year. Here is the link:

I had a 65 set up, chrome lid, yours looks like a 65 minus the chrome lid. They are hard to come by but it takes that one person wanting it. I sold mine for 350.00, it was in excellent shape, snorkels everything .probably to cheap but wasn’t doing me any good. 400.00 probably in the ballpark for yours, you can ask a lot more and see. Me personally like to see stuff-go on cars, not the flipping market.
