Probably no different other than weight over a stock unit. And depending on what vehicle it's going in, you may have to fab something for the throttle bracket. I'm looking for the version with the closed panel around the water passage.

I'm just starting to get the parts around for a 400 and I haven't got any firm plans on what I want yet .This is available for a good price and I thought it would be ok if it'll work with the Q/jet I have .I have the cast intake but thinking of the weight diff. Thanks for your feed back !!

What I found a number of years ago with 400 cid motor /tb440 trans / stock 1800 stall converter and that Intake is your going to need 3.55 rear gears and a solid 9.5 compression to not loose and drivability over the stock iron Intake below 2600 rpm.
It's a great intake for a 428/440 or a 455!

Agree. One worked great on a 428 I had. I found the one I was looking for on Facebook.

TomV on the forum was at Holley when they developed this intake. Maybe he can give you some insight.

In part....
"I left Holley in 1978 to go to work for Ford Engineering. The Street Dominator Intake has been in production for a long time. The original version had a "design task" to perform better everywhere vs a Pontiac Ram Air 4 Aluminum Intake Manifold. It met those targets and then some. The "Design Target" was 3% better vs a Pontiac Intake, (assuming a 1% error in dyno testing) about a 11 horsepower improvement." Tom Vaught .

Thanks again guys; I am leaning toward a stroker assembly for this but I'm on a budget so that probably won't happen ! I'm going to research some for this and decide soon . I may get the intake if it's still available as it will be useful later on for the right build .
