Prayers sent for him and family. Yes it is ,talked to owner of trailer business. He went to Riteaid for shingles shot. Got covid symptoms couple days later. Him and his wife had been isolating themselves. So, he was serious, had no strength to even pick up glass of water. He is ok after being placed on ventilator. His wife got it, she is slowly recovering. He said he is still weak. Know of 2 other cases that were terminal.

Thanks for the prayers and kind words. My brother in law (Tom Woods) had no improvement today, and still in grave condition.

I haven't been tested yet and since the beginning have pretty much been staying home and practicing my "doomsday prepper" skills. Pretty fun stuff there and quickly found the weak areas in my "system" for staying at home and off the grid for weeks and months. Fixed those issues and we've been doing fine for many months now.

Since my business and shop are on the same property there is really no reason to wonder out much. I will also say that about a month or so before COVID 19 became a household word I came down something that kicked my butt! I don't ever remember being sicker, and I seldom get any colds or flu anyhow. I was out of commission for nearly a week, fever, aches, chills, night sweats etc. Then it moved into my sinuses and ravaged me for two more weeks. Never did have any lung issues or problems breathing. Shortly after I finally kicked it to the curb they were talking about COVID being a big problem overseas and spreading rapidly.

Coincidentally about a half dozen people that I know were sick with similar symptoms at about the same time.....hum....left me wondering if it was out there quite a while before we were told about it........FWIW......

Prayers offered up for your brother-in-law, Cliff, and Brad, for your wife's co-worker and her family. May God grant His healing touch to them, and all who are afflicted. Be safe out there, my friends.

Cliff, you're not alone in wondering if it was here way before they knew it. Many at the dental office where my wife works went through severe flu symptoms in January. Since then only one has tested positive for Covid despite working in one of the most dangerous areas for spreading the disease. Crazy part is the one positive is a person who did have the flu symptoms back in January. So "if" it was Covid he reinfected. Hope you get a good report today on your BIL.

I had the same thing and 2 of my friends about that time. We all got a Covid antibody test (months later) and all came back neg. So there seems to have been something other than covid going around about that time.

Probably just the normal flu.
2 years ago I got the flu. I never get sick. No head aches. etc.
My wife gets the flu shot every year. Not me.
Anyway I got up one day and after a couple hours I started getting a headache, cold, fever, hard to breathe, not hungry (), couldn't walk 20 feet without taking a rest, very weak, slept most of the time. Wife called doc after 2 days, went and got the Tamiflu shot (or whatever it's called) and the next day I was like new again.

My wife was real sick a few years back and lost here sense of smell. I am wondering if she had maybe contracted the swine flu. So she is worried that covid will be even worse for her. She has not ever recovered here sense of smell. Anyway I hope we get control of this soon and we can all get back to normal. I miss going to all the swap meets around here in CO.

I was very surprised that the doc told me the antibody test will only test positive for 90 days after you have covid, after that time you'll test negative for antibodies, even if you did have it. You could potentially get it again, after that short period of immunity receded.

Here in Ohio, because I have 3 of the health risk factors, and am over 65, I'll be able to take the vaccine in about 3 weeks, or mid January.

Prayers sent for all in need !

I have a college buddy in MI that still tells me "all this is BS"
It baffles me how some people still don't accept the fact that the virus is real !!

We all hope for a better 2021

Sorry to hear about your Brother-in-Law Cliff.

Read a lot over the last year about how it was no big thing, except for old dudes like you and I.......
Now it in all levels of the population and much of it is caused by the super spreaders type events, be it football, basketball, car shows, boating celebrations like the one held on Lake St. Clair each year. Notice I did not use the "P word anywhere as this thread is about your Brother-in-Law who is in bad shape.

I wish him the best medical help and a eventual full recovery.

Tom V.

On a positive note, My 89 year old Dad has completely recovered for this nasty virus. He had Home Health care visit him. He had oxygen therapy. It takes a while for the body to get back to it's ability to utilize atmospheric oxygen, in a normal way...I keep forgetting to ask him if he was treated with any medicine...

My Pastor, who I would say is one of strongest persons of faith, I've ever known...has the virus. He thinks he got it at a....gathering of course. He preached at a funeral, wore his mask there, most of the time. He's got allergy, flu symptoms. He got a "Z" pack (antibiotics) prescribed to him, upon diagnosis. they can help. He's doing better every day, he is 66.

More and more folks are getting infected. If you are going to bars, casinos, sporting events, eec, you are just asking for it!!!

Praying for all, for recovery!!!

Look into Ivermectin and doxycycline research online. Can get Ivermectin paste (Apple flavored) for cheap from Tractor Supply and without a prescription. Was told this by an ER doc friend of mine and have been taking it preemptively for a couple months. We are both high risk.

Take it for what you will.

Cliff I would politely ask if your BIL has been given dexamethasone as part of his treatment, might be worth asking.

Prayers sent to your BIL.. I've known several people that have gotten it. Two grandchildren, both of whom were asymptomatic, a few neighbors and a friend who passed at 50. This can be very serious....take precautions.

Sorry to read this, hope he pulls through. I know several who have had it in different severities, two spent time in hospital. It is real and serious. Please wear a mask for yourself and limit contact unless an emergency.

Strange how it hits. My grand daughter is an RN at a large hospital emergency room and came down with it. Her husband figured he just as well get it over with and they continued with their normal lifestyle. He didn't get it. Then two months later it took a swath through where he worked and this time he caught it. His work had them social distancing and wearing masks. I guess just spin the wheel and see where it lands. Both of them are very healthy individuals and were only down a little over three days.
