Can anyone explain or show how to tell an original '69 walnut shift knob from a reproduction?

Left one is the reproduction. Right is an original used knob.
Most striking difference is the rings under the pattern look like ridges on the original, but they look flat as if they were printed on the repro. Original has red that's richer and pattern and numbers are brighter, larger and have better definition. My repro is one of the first produced, as I loaned an original to Chris years ago, and he gave me the repro as thanks. |

As the saying goes, they don’t make ‘em like they used to.

There is an NOS one collecting dust on eBay at a rather stratospheric $1,500 or so.
