Do they ship? There's a body part I've been needing for awhile.

so how is one supposed to know who these 3 guys in the D are??

there are lots of people who part these cars located all over the country, a few of them are members here & they ship... or can always check craigslist or facebook in your local area or ebay. or just post a wanted ad in the firebird parts section for the parts you need.

there are plenty of "real f body people" that havent been to the T/A nats for one reason or another...

Any names you can drop? Haha.

I need the inner door jamb support piece, since the one on my driver side is rotted out in a spot. It's a separate piece with its own part number, but is spot welded on. You can only see this piece if you remove the door jamb vent, and on my car there is an adequate but not ideal repair over it. It'll do for awhile, but I just want to get the piece to have it for a future correct repair/repaint.

Every parts car I see is being sold as a whole, you never see people offer up "parting out" cars, anymore, so it's been difficult getting this piece. Also, I guess the inconvenience of the fact that it will have to be cut out...

for members on here, might check with ladytata for a parts car that can be a donor for body parts like that. there are a lot of other sellers on ebay, other forums & FB like posted above... just need to price shop a bit because prices vary a LOT for the same exact part, new or used. & post a wanted ad on here to see if anyone has a car to cut that piece out of.

LOL

There are longtime national vendors that read this bulletin board. At least many used to until it went to H#LL.

that may be, but many national vendors that I know of don't cut up and sell pieces off of cars;
Incase it matters, that was a reply about the door jamb section, not seats.

They can feel free to sponsor the forum also, but they don't. 2GG is strictly for the kool fbook kiddies collecting likes. Franks is just rude.

I know John Hurd, ( second gen GY) great guy, great reputation, parts out cars in his "autopsy bay" ) .Does have a wide array of FB followers, but runs a great reliable business.
I have known Frank for much longer. He doesn't like to waste time shooting the crap about stuff, which is fine. His parts are 99% Very nice,
including the lower door jam areas he sells. He ships promptly and stuff is well packed, even palletized parts. So yeah , maybe being "short" on a conversation can be considered Rude, but keep in mind, its a business, not a Hobby, and the Hobby end is loaded with "Talkers", self included.
Call his wife ,Kris, tell her what you want from the website and you dont ever talk to Frank.. ..

they might be great guys, but the prices for many new or used parts from places like that are ridiculous. some rare older parts i can understand but on common run of the mill stuff there is no reason to jack up the prices so much. personally, i prefer to help others in this hobby out as opposed to price gouge them.

ive seen those places & the other popular ones charge way more for common parts than can be easily found for a lot less with just some basic searches or shopping around. some people out there dont do that & just accept the prices they charge. there is no reason to jack up the price of something like ACC carpet when you can buy it at rock auto for $50 less or a common used part for 2-3 times what they sell for by regular people.
