Default Q: 1970 Trans Am Accelerator Cable… ball connector or cotter pin

I’m not sure but my 1970 T/A may have the wrong accelerator cable on it. Currently it connects to the carb using an eyelet and cotter pin. Is this correct for a 70? Somewhere I read the 70 uses a one year only cable.

Can someone advise? Should it be a ball snap?

I looked through the site and could only find this post from 1970 Only Parts Thread:

“I haven't read through each post on this one. I found this out just this past weekend. 1970 Firebird accelerator pedal and throttle cables are one year only. Ames was the only place I could find a new replacement cable. The mounting at the pedal is what makes it a one year only piece.”

It works fine but it will bug me if it’s incorrect. Here’s a pic of the cable below. I appreciate your expertise and experience.

I don't believe the ball started until 1972.

My '70 RAIII Formula has the cotter pin style as in the picture. Hopefully you can see the cotter pin in the picture if you blow it up a bit.

My '71 455HO has the ball style.
