I just got my renewal invoice for 2022 from Hagerty and it went down 3 bucks a year from 2021, If I remember correctly 2021 was up 13 bucks from 2020. No claims ever.

It's nice to compare rates. Who doesn't want to pay less? A very important metric that you may not be thinking about when shopping rates is how well does the company pay out if you have a claim? Cheap rates go out the window if the company nickels and dimes your claim down or you get the answer "your'er covered for everything but..."
Another thing is consumer service. Waiting on hold for 30+ minutes when you have to communicate with a company in the stressful time after you have a loss may be worth a few dollars for better service. Any way I have my un-restored, all original, runs great, needs paint, '71 Cutlass with a declared value of $5,000, 12 month coverage for $190 in NYC with Hagerty. That includes the usual shows, parades, and occasional weekly and even occasional commute to work use. I haven't the need to contact them since the initial purchase or make a claim so I can not comment on costumer service or claims payout. |

insurance suggestion
I have 4 cars w/Liberty Mutual/Safeco @ 60K agreed value for just over 600. yr. The real kick is shopping for homeowners found they offered about a 500 dollar savings over Amica which I had for many years. Then by bundling, they gave a $600. discount on combo. So cars are basically FREE. I have had 2 claims on what is essentially my wife's "daily" 01 PT Cruiser, One was for a roof & windshield replacement from airborne spare while parked. The responsible party's insurance attempted to total the PT at 1400., but since I had agreed value at $6500. it was repaired w/$400. deductible which they reimbursed from other company. I am on my third year w/ minimal increase in premiums, (less than $20. year.) I found them while researching companies and finding no one else that would take me as all my vehicles are old & "classic" and did not have a "Daily late model" for each driver. All was done online and telephone w/the in house agency Emerald City Insurance Agy.. I was told by agent that vehicle use was not an issue, including my 34 Chevrolet street rod. We really have no need for true "Daily Driver" as we are both retired and I alternate between the 34 and a 72 C10 for errands. I have avoided auto insurance for years other than liability because of cost, but I can highly recommend Liberty Mutual/ Safeco.

I guess it varies from state to state. I had Hagerty and switched to Grundy. 2 Cars Insured at 65k and 20k agreed value in Indiana, it is $606 a year. Hagerty was about $310 a year higher. I like Hagerty more as a company, but I can't see the justification for 50% more.

Hagerty insurance for my 1970 TA with a $40,000 value (for now). $690 a year and it includes towing and all the extras. I think I may have the race car insurance as well… I need to look at my policy.
