Yeah, that's what I thought too. Depending on how the brake was loaded we saw only 70X LB/FT before this run. And if you throw out the first two or three numbers after the brake sets on the posted run you see it actually fluctuate and go up a little. You are probably correct.

CCC 535 Dyno - Final - Came up short but not disappointed
Final power numbers. There is more left, but it is coming home super healthy and burly.
I suspect that I know what's left, and observations/suggestions are welcome. What do you see? It was miserable hot, but this engine didn't miss a beat. We didn't even drop the oil or cut the filter. Saw no reason to after around 15 pulls. I name a lot of my cars and engines, and this one because of our early days in the getting-to-know one another after I bought the car/engine, it was named Gomer. Reason being, after two trips to the track the engine was on the road to destruction. Gomer Pyle being a play on words, in short at that point it was a pile! It might have redeemed itself with some work. Thanks for looking. Last edited by ChiefCrazyCanuck; 07-07-2022 at 09:51 PM. |

It appears e85 and the 1250 carb provided nice gains over whatever it was you were running. Really nice build/engine! Thanks for sharing, should lots of fun once in the car

Congratulations. Nice improvement.
Something really help on the top end. There is a pretty even increase up the RPM range until about 6800. Yesterday the torque start to full after that and the HP flattened out. Today the HP was still climbing at 7300 RPM. Stan

We tested again the following morning the exact same setup, didn't turn a screw prior to running on ethanol. It picked almost 10 HP, weather was about 90 degrees yesterday morning, so 15 - ish degrees air temp was worth 10 HP in the corrected numbers. |

Larger carb and the big kill - E-85. I love this stuff, and run it in many of my cars. What is neat on the dyno sheets (and telling about the nature of ethanol) is how much less air the motor ran through the hat with the big carb and ethanol vs. gas. With a gain of almost 40HP. The sheer volume of ethanol fuel and it's oxygenation displaces what would otherwise be air through the hat. |

Thanks! I don't know yet, going to let it sit a while. Ether my '71 Firebird wannabe racer or my 1968 Firebird. Would love to see what it could do in Darby's car lol
