" I did drive a C63 AMG that had performance tires on it and I think 20" rims. Was like a go cart. But the suspension is so much more modern."

I'm not suggesting this applies here, but a somewhat related topic. A common complaint with ‘60s muscle cars is the lack of “feel” in the steering wheel compared to newer cars.

See my posts #13 and #5 on the subject here:

this is to an ebay seller that also has 275/60 & i think 225/70. but if you google "firestone indy 500" & one of those sizes a few links come up from other sellers, even walmart has them last i checked. they are priced pretty good too compared to BFG or other name brands.
Thanks, that gave me more places to search. I see at least a couple sizes offered from different places. Maybe in time they'll have more sizes available.

Maybe not easy to find at the local stores but Michelin does still produce their classic XWX. I believe 205, 215 and 225 widths in 70 section 15 inch are all available. Blackwall only of course.

From what I could find, the actual Firestone sight doesn't list any of the raised white letter 500 tires. Only the aftermarket places that have been linked in this thread showed a couple sizes available from what I could see.

i dont see them advertised on firestones website either. but i messaged one of the ebay sellers earlier this year asking if they were new, they said they are made new & guaranteed it.

i dont think amazon or walmart or other companies that carry these would or could sell old stock tires. some of the reviews on walmart say they have current DOT dates on the sidewall.

I don't think places like Walmart would sell outdated tires either, especially since most bigger Walmarts have install centers, and these tire stores generally won't even touch your tire, not even put a plug in it, if it's beyond 4-5 years.
