This is for my ‘68 GTO Driver Side. #5719955 LH
I think it was used on all GM A’s ‘64-68, and everything from Corvair’s to Bel Air’s, and even some ‘69-70 Mopar’s. Thanks. |

I bought an NOS regulator supposedly for a 68 A body. The crank stem was shorter than the original, so there are differences. Probably from a B body
64-72 A bodies are the same however, whether sedan, wagon, or 64-68 Hardtop.

Entropy,
I've got both ... unfortunately the LH appears to have the gear support plate removed .... although a person could remove the plate from the RH and install it on the LH ... it's crimped/swagged in place. I'd give it a 50/50 shot the plate can be swapped successfully ... always a challenge with the swagged pot metal parts. Of course, depending on the value of your time ... you could be better off finding a good LH unit. Both free if you have a desire to become a vent window regulator expert ![]() I'll even cover the shipping since you are in NY.

They will be on the way tomorrow. Basically they are just another example of parts I don't need but didn't have the heart to throw away.
They should have put grease fittings on these things.

Received the parts yesterday and did the swap of the bottom plate already. Part is lubed up and ready to go in tonight hopefully. Thanks so much Dataway. I sincerely appreciate your help!
Good to know we should be critical of replacement parts OG, thanks for the heads up. It’s just so strange that they use the same stamped part number on the bottom of the piece back to ‘64 and various makes/models. Makes things even harder! Thanks! |
