1971 KR after market rims
Building a car that is a non matching driver but still period correct. A set of original 71-72 KR rims are not in the budget. Anyone making the 14 inch centers with 15 inch rim? Thanks for any help,

These used to be hand built. I seem to recall that they are not being made anymore ( could be wrong) . These were Not cheap either.

I am pretty sure that a guy in the PNW was making them - I have one of the small center Oldsmobile 15" rally wheels that is needed (along with the 14" Rally II center) to make them.

Since the mid 90's, there have been at least a half dozen machinists across the country that have built JW-KR clone wheels out of the correct outer wheel cores & low value 14" rally II centers. Only a few parts vendors ever put them on eBay. One Being, Brian in WA state, the other being an older vendor in PA.
Near 20 years ago, I had a fellow in Texas make several sets, & as well as a spare for me. Do have enough nice wheel cores to make two more sets, working on enough for 3 sets. Will be pursuing this come late Spring.

I was hoping that there was another company like Wheel Vintiques out there. They make lots of different size Rally II's just not the 71-72 version. The prices are around $250-350 a pop.
There's still one person in WA making the conversion piece with old and new parts for $500 not including shipping. Not to far off the price of a original. |

original pricing is wholly dependant on your luck - or in my case, a complete lack there of
I would suggest that market value has originals a whole lot more than $500.
