67 hood pops open
I was reading somewhere where someone said that the 67 firebirds had a problem with the hood popping open at speed.
He said that you would see a lot of those cars with hood pins. Is this true? It was said that in 1968 and on, there was a redesign of the hood latch to make it safer. So in regard to the 1967 only (not having mixed and matched 67 with 68 or 69 parts)., would this story be true? |

67s do not have a secondary latch so yes if it pops up it will open all the way up.

Certainly "not a problem", but if it did pop open, there is no secondary safety like '68-'69.
I've driven '67's for the past 30 years and have never had a hood opening problem. |

Been around these cars for many years, not a common occurrence, Thank God!
