Lame Driving Videos
I have to improve my videography skills.
Mellow cruise. Please excuse the bug splats on the windshield. https://youtu.be/58wB6rHvrBw A little juice in 2nd, 3rd and a touch of 4th. Gotta ease into it in 2nd or there's a fair amount of wheel spin. https://youtu.be/cEyheF8ZYOY

I feel quite lucky to live in a place where I have such beautiful and fun roads to drive on. Most all with no other cars! It's a driving paradise. And those roads are not even near the nicest ones.

It's running pretty good now with the new RobbMc pump. I think it may do even better with a 1/2" supply line and a baffled tank. Don't know but I'll probably try those upgrades in the near future. Right now, the suspension is next.

These are not so much lame but just to short and maybe need a few more burnouts?

Yes, I agree, too short. Also, my wife was shooting those obviously from the passenger seat. I have a new headband mount that I'm gonna try that will give a drivers view that I think will be much better too. Also, we had the windows nearly all the way up so maybe down would give better engine sound?

The engine sounded good to me although moreso in the second video than the first.
Windows down might introduce a lot of ambient noise...I dunno.

Yeah, I agree that having the windows down could introduce too much noise. I have to experiment more. I mainly called them lame because when I watched them, they do not really represent the actual experience very well. The first video was just way too mellow driving so you couldn't really hear the motor very much at all.

What would really be cool is if you do another video from the inside with a second camera mounted to the outside and somehow edit them together switching from one view to another throughout the drive.
I don't know how to do it but maybe you do.

98 Snake Eater makes the best videos. I don't know what he is using but it is way better than my phone.

Nothing to be ashamed about with your videos. I enjoyed them. Looking at that scoop gave me a flashback to my '74 455 T/A!

But there are lots of roads like that around here. Plenty of car commercials have been filmed in southern Humboldt through the old growth Redwoods. The timber companies used to let car clubs do timed hill climbs on sections of 299 that were put out of service when the highway got redesigned. They even had timed 50 mile Enduro races through their timberland for the motorcycle guys. It was a great time to grow up. Sadly insurance issues have shut it all down. As well as gates on the beaches and river bars where we used to have a lot of fun. Keep us the videos of your fantastic car. |

The shaker is a cool thing for sure. Although with these Butler mounts I have, they really behave almost like solid mounts so not much actual shaking going on, which I like. I don't like a shaky shaker. LOL.
