The engine on that second Carousel care is a strange hue of green.

Agreed, Greg. Brings back ancient memories.
When I was young, boats I spent time on had Daytona Marine engines, that's pretty close to the color. Dad repowered his 1963 24' Eastern Sea Skiff from a 238hp Graymarine engine which was the Rambler 327, to a Daytona Marine 225hp which was the Chevy 327. Gobs more power. Friend Rob had a 1965 28' Eastern with the last of the Daytona 400 which was the Chevy 409. Photo is the 28 on Long Island's Great South Bay, about 1969. Dad in the water (undoubtedly digging clams), me and 2 childhood pals not yet wet. |

That 69's engine color reminds me of the color my old 1976 GP's engine turned into after 25= years and 100K miles.

Yup, And it might be exactly that, a 76 engine. The temp sensor on the left head is a tip off.

68 Firebird restomod in NC at (gasp) $105K. You'd think for $105K you wouldn't need a stick to keep the hood open? LS2 prolly runs well and the interior is tastefully done.

70 GTO convertible frame off in Granada gold/saddle at $67.5K BIN. Another example of a tribute that isn't a tribute. If they took the Judge wing off and stickers it would be way cooler and worth more IMO. Beautiful colors on this car.

Oh, I disagree... I think he failed brilliantly.
Easy fix except why did he have to go and paint the front corners of the hood? What's that supposed to represent? Eyes?

A close friend has one Azure blue, blue interior.
It is an SX: 455, Dual Gated TH400, trumpet exhaust. I prefer the 350; 60 pounds lighter - they run very well and much better mileage. |

67 Firebird restomod at $130K in Michigan. Let's see... would I rather have a real 69 Trans AM, or this? Most of these types of cars have a blown LS3 or some sort of new technology. The sad thing about this car is that it has the original numbers matching 400. Maybe they're hoping some billionaire gets drunk and clicks BIN, but clearly swinging for the fences. I can find many Pontiacs I'd rather have for 1/3 the asking price. It does have a nice paint job, so there's that. Prolly too nice to drive. I worked with a guy who bought a 69 Judge new when he graduated college. After he had it repainted, he was afraid to drive it for fear of getting a chip in the paint.

71 Trans AM 455HO 4-speed project car in Florida t $5K with a reserve. Ad states local pick up only, so you prolly need to live close enough to rent a U-Haul and pick it up yourself. It says it has a "correct" block and a "built" 4-speed, but my guess is it's NOM... still cool though. Can't read the build sheet, but it looks like there were few options. This one would take a while to put back together, but if it's a Lucy blue it would be pretty. Worth noting is one quarter has been replaced and the ad states it needs "tweaking" to be right... hmmm...

I would love to have that one... But even more, I would love to have the energy and money to finish it. No rotating assembly for the engine I suppose..
Color code 11 is Cameo White by the way. Those cars look good in either color.
