SSBC rear disc brake calipers. Replacement 65 GTO
I have SSBC rear disc brakes on my 65 GTO.
The E brake part of it doesn’t work worth a damn!! I learned they are ford thunderbird based, lol Can anyone recommend a caliper that would be a direct replacement with an Effective E brake ? Trying to avoid another “Kit”. If that is possible. It’s a 4 sp trans. Thank you. |

Takes this pad if that helps.

Pad does not help - Ford used that pad on several calipers with different thickness rotors, so different caliper frames.
You will need to measure here. |

A cursory search shows nothing of the usual suspects running a 1/2" thick rotor.
Best bet is to have B&W Brake in KCMO rebuild them for you. Once this is done, every time before you shut off the car, engage the parking brake. This will keep it in form. |

They need to be used regularly or they freeze up.

The 69 Lemans I recently acquired has SSBC rear brakes and I called the company directly- Tim was great at answering questions- maybe call them for the specs on your rotors.
