To be honest just in the driving tonight I can’t tell enough of a difference to justify the cost of buying new roller lifters etc. I really like the cam. Thank GACH for his recommendation.

I have a slight and I mean slight leak at the top of the timing cover on the passenger side where the timing cover meets the block right by the bolt hole. I had to take the bolt out to put the brackets on. Do I need thread sealer or what?

Well all the holes related to holding on the timing are, or should be blind unless they where at some point repaired and drilled too deep.
To be safe just put some sealer on it and then re-tighten down all the 4 bolts and two stud nuts that hold the cover on.

Little tinkering left but I think it’s actually better for me than the roller. It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll

Yep, I told you it would run just fine and to forget the "magic cam" Paul spec'd for you. It's going to be easier on the valve train and much better around town.

So the leak resolved itself so I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Clutch is sticky coming up which I assume is air still in the line. It was a pain getting any pedal at all and then over night it got worse. So I’m thinking air moved around????

Dakota Digital RTX. That is Amazon brand sound deadener. 50 bucks for enough to do the whole damn car

Sweet car! Sounds just as rowdy at idle as it did with the roller cam. You're going to enjoy that car.

It’s nasty. Actually thinking of quieter mufflers. I am a music lover and I can’t hear anything in the car

I think my thermostat is sticking. It is a 180 but it’s going to 210 then coming down and going back again and on and on

Don’t change the mufflers till you get carpet and a full interior in there as it will muffle the sound a bit.
Is the upper radiator hose hot at 180 (test with infrared gun)? Also, not sure if you’ve done so but I check every thermostat in a pot of water with a thermometer before install - so far above 50% don’t open at advertised rating - more like 10-15 degrees above it.

Its a new start up, might just be working air out. Hopefully it will stabilize.
