I sat down inside my 67 GTO and looked at the wiring mess with the intentions of getting it straightened out. Dragged out the wiring diagram, looked back at the mess. Got up and went into the house to watch football.

Resealed the window in the Ventura yesterday. The urethane I used to set the rear window a while back didn't hold and I didn't have time to fix it before we left. It squeaked the whole time on our road trip! I write off the failure to user error. We were in a rush and I couldn't find any primer. I also didn't have the proper caulking gun so it was really hard to apply.
This time we used the old school 5/16" roll of butyl Window Weld. It put the window at the perfect height and the trim sits nicely. A storm came though today and it looks like our install was a success. We also sealed up the tail light housings with some 3m strip-calk. So far so good!

Pulled the engine out and took it to Jim Pickett for some upgrades and to find out why there was a serious drop in oil pressure.

Did 100 mile country cruise this morning down over the Ohio river from Kentucky to Indiana and back home . Enjoyed some coffee and a podcast along the way .

I swapped out the rear lower control arms on the 1971 Catalina Freeway Enforcer so I could remount the 7/8" rear bar the PO had removed and swapped out the arms with ones that didn't have mounting holes for the mounting brackets for the rear Bar. The new arms were a NOS Kit that was intended for the recall on the 91-96 Caprice's with the 9C1 Police package or Taxi cabs. They were breaking the rear control arms at the 4 smaller holes used to mount the rear sway bar mounting brackets inside the C section of the arms. The upgraded arms use 2 thru bolts to mount the Bar thru the control arms upper surface. They use spacer around the bolts, and small plates that overlap the lower control arms. Comparing the 2 control arms, the only functional difference I could find was the distance between the front and rear bushings was 1mm longer hole center to hole center on the new arms. This was probably the easiest control arm swap I have ever done but as stated the PO had swapped them out about 25-30 years ago, and the car has less than 35K original miles on it, even if it is a rust belt car.
And while I was there I took the time to clean up the large 12" finned rear drums, even though you can not see them with the wheels installed.

Spent 3 days getting ready to bring the 66 2+2 back to KC from Richland Washington. Emptied out the third car slot, painted walls and ceiling, built a couple of 4ft x10ft shelves to put all my car parts on, and packed away all the tailgating supplies since we are done for the year.

I moved the snowblower out of the way and took the Pontiac out for a cruise both Saturday and Sunday, then drove it to work this morning as well.
February temps in the 50s in South Dakota is nice enough for hot roddin'!
