65 Tripower 4spd 3.90 project on eBay
Fontaine Blue with Blue Interior Hdtp.
Decent amount of options. Price is too ambitious and unknown what kind of long block is sitting in it. Trans is missing and axle is not authenticated in the listing. Still a hard combo to come by Link https://www.ebay.com/itm/31499754044...Bk9SR4Tvv9yDYw |

I'm not affiliated with the car - just sharing the find.
It had good content when new. |

Saw this as well cool car when new. Body and Floors look solid not sure what the trunk looks like. See some rust on the truck lip below rear window deck. Lot of motor related stuff in the truck wonder if original to the car?

Ouch!
That’s so unfortunate this cool ‘65 GTO wound up like this, but many others have suffered the same fate. This car literally needs everything. It still has the round rivets on the VIN plate. Plus this car was built with the rare #614 option. Three air cleaner bases with the small tubes that lead into a larger tube to the LH valve cover.

This is the kind of car you get running and driving leaving the body as it sits other than maybe fixing the windshield and rear window channels so the glass will seal.
Otherwise just add 100 to 150k in restoration costs and end up with a car worth about 80k. For the love of the hobby I guess. Sad to see how people neglect these icons of the muscle car era. As it sits maybe 8k, without at least the original engine even considering the pedigree it’s not going to attract many buyers at the 20k asking price. How can you ask that much if you’re not willing to go to the trouble to clean that rusty worthless junk out of the trunk to actually show the condition?

I’m surprised that rusty trunk can even hold that weight without a cave in.

I thought the transition from round rivet to rosette rivet happened sometime between December and January.

It varied by plant.
The Pontiac Michigan location seems to have transitioned earlier. K

Makes sense, since this one would be a couple weeks later, also from Fremont.
