You need a puller to pull the Pully and I will ask him for the directions when he comes home, if you like so, I can post it. Lou is good at what he does and may make it appear to be easy. The kit that I bought had "0"-rings, that's all.

I was up late at night buying tools and reading all the Harbor Freight cool stuff with coupons, plus the credit card that I applied for through Harbor Freight too. All adds up to someone cloning their site. Then the same thing happened to Lowes, I let both companies know about the problem.

I just got through sending an email to Butler to see what the Costs will be for them to build my short Block, with their parts. It's a starting place that makes the most sense in order to get a warrantee. Also, it will expediate things.

I had a neighbor come over and lay a lot of money down to buy my double wide mobile home. I realized after that, after some research, this home is worth a lot more, especially if I finish it completely.

I did some research and the market is up, a sellers' market. I have one room I can fix and rent for $500/month. I should be focused on repairing the rest of the Home and installing a kitchen etc, finish the floors and put it up for sale, while the market is high. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of on ebay, why am I playing with the car? Pay a pro to build it and capitalize on the economy.

We can do the machine work and supply parts as needed but we are not doing any assembly work.

We can supply an unassembled short block kit using either your block or we can supply a core to machine.

As far as the heads that’s between you and your shop. We use only full bronze guides, PC type seals and new valves, springs, etc...

We are not big on trying to re-use gaskets but as you are the builder that’s your call to make.

If you would like an estimate to do either the short block kit or to do a long block kit and work the heads, we can offer either.

You just need to know which way you want to go and if you want to send the block or we need to supply one.

Since Butler is not going to build the short Block, then I have no alternative but to let a local shop do the Machining and assemble the parts, I will have to ask them about the parts they use and their warrantee? There is no way that I am shipping this short Block out to Butler without a complete job done in return and their taking responsibility for their work. I need to compare the parts between the two options.

We have been detailing the Engine compartment better than the former owner, the new motor mounts fit well and I will post a photo soon, meanwhile I am reading the new book on Pontiac Engine building 101.

Since Butler won't assemble the parts that they sell, I am calling out to other Pontiac Engine Builders, of course I will be using the parts that they want to use, that is if this engine needs a complete overhaul. I have yet to take it apart, home projects take priority.

Not true, Lou said use a puller to remove the pully and follow the instructions in the 1967 Pontiac service manual, in our case and it is just a matter of R+R the various seals, easy he said, be careful not to damage the shaft or scratch it, in any way, that can cause a leak. I hope that helps.

Lou is using the Engine Hoist to hang the AC compressor up and out of the way while he details the Engine compartment. It is looking good, since the motor came in the car on purchase, we have had to live with the former owners original detailing. His warehouse was filthy and thus left a lot of debris on this motor. Worse than that was the dog hair in the Heater core that we pulled and replaced.

I decided to keep the yellow color, a light color that shows the Engine well, I felt that black is just too dark and many people use that in their Engine compartment and you can't see the other parts. JMO

I continue to read the Book on" how to build a Pontiac Motor" and as I thought, I have all this info. in my archives, however I am enjoying reading it anyway. I also have downloaded all the pictures in the book and wonder who copied who. Tomorow is the day to disassemble the short block, if all goes as planned!
