T Top Seals
I have a 78 Trans Am with American T Tops. That company is long gone and from what I understand, no one makes replacement seals to fit these T Tops. Wish I had known about this before putting money into this car. Wanted to know what other people that have these T Tops with worn out seals have done?

Others have spliced 2 Hurst t-top seals together to do the job. They are very similar in size but the American sits a fraction deeper so needs extra seal. If you found someone who has done this, they may have tips and how they did it or could do better, and may have the remains of their cut seal to send offcuts.

Thank you. I have read about splicing 2 sets of Hurst seals together.

I agree Green Hornet, but that is not something I know how to do and the expense of a body shop doing that would probably be very expensive

True, no point swapping roofs at huge expense just to end up with another leaking design, albeit with more accessible seals. Best to modify a set as others have done and hope fully that lasts another few decades and limited driving in rain, like any t-tops.
