Ive never used the spray cans, only bought in quarts and use an undercoat gun.
I think if you do the math its about half price that way.

The Parts Place sells the "good" stuff but you need a gun to spray it. It is very durable once cured but has water in it so can only be shipped in warmer weather. I believe Ames sells it as well. Does not require a protective coat over top.
You used to be able to buy it directly from Zolatone but last I checked it was only available relabelled from Parts Place.

Bought a quart from NPD and used a undercoating shutz gun to apply it. Used a black epoxy primer for a base. Did'nt take alot to cover. Looks correct and is'nt affected by water.

You can still buy Zolatone
20-TS02 is the part number for Black/Aqua The Parts Place version is Zolatone (to the best of my knowledge). They share the same part number and if I remember correctly the MSDS matches. TCP Global ships it but Walmart is the cheapest option for me. They get it from TCP Global but ship it to my local store for free (saving me $12). The color of your primer under the spatter paint has an impact on the shade of the finish color. You can get a cheap primer gun on Amazon that comes with several tips for under $25. One included tip is a 2.0 and you can drill out one of the smaller tips to a 2.2 or larger to try. Here is a ton of important info on spraying Zolatone: https://hmswarehouse.com/CATALOGS/zolatone.pdf |

Avoid spray can products if you are after a factory look. I have been using Parts Place products for years with no problem. I allow it to cure for at least 2 weeks before sealing it with a flattened urethane Omni clear.
