Car was NEVER titled. Dealership owner kept and drove his self. User dealer tags as I understand it. Waiting to see the certificate of origin. This part is new to me!!
Also was supposedly kept in a garage with 3 other new cars never titled. If a car was never sold, would there be a P*O*P? I think not. "Bill"! |

Bill,
Is this car yours or someone else? Cool ‘65! YF = Looks like a 3.23 Safe-T-Track. I’m pretty sure all cars came with the POP with the stamped car information on one plate. Once it was “first” sold then the owners information was stamped on another plate. Here is an example of a ‘65 Tempest Custom.

THANKS Chris. Now I understand.
The car was supposedly built with a 3:90. I believe that is ZX. Something might not be right here. More investigation. I hope I am wrong and someone will correct me!!!! "Bill"! Not mine yet. Trying to confirm everything from 2000 miles away!!!!! |

The tranny tag is the number for the standard wide ratio , code W on a PHS
That hits with the 3.23 axle I think 3.23 would have to have been specified , not by default. You are right about ZK = 3.90 |

SOOOO now what it looks like is a 3X2, 4 spd M20, with a 3:23, AND a notched fan. Definitely not what I was looking for OR expecting. Build sheet has not been found yet. They have looked under and around seats, dropped the tank, etc. I am thinking maybe in a door. Definitely need the PHS and P*O*P... DANG

It didn't really look like an AC dash control in the picture - but is it an AC car ?
My AC cars were 3.23 4spd with Notched Fan and a Metal Shroud Or maybe the fan on the Teal car was a factory goof |

No AC
RH kick panel vent says no air condition.

I wouldn't be deterred because its a 3.23 car versus a 3.90
Not at all But wouldn't pay over a million for it though. A dark blue WT survivor low mileage northern car that had been detailed fluffed and dry ice blasted brought somewhere around 80 or 90k. I thought that was excessive , but that's what it brought on BaT or eBay . |

I guess I need to put an ending the this thread. I turned down the 65. I really was wanting a 3:90 car, which it was not. The fan is what got me going. Without the PHS, my buddy who had the tiger gold 65 on BAT, believes and I concur, it was built with a towing package, maybe. The reason for this theory is the picture of the trunk that showed loose wires running thru a factory hole by the trunk latch bracket, with no grommet. Looked like someone ran some trailer lights wiring up into the trunk!! Anyway, the car is not for sale yet, but will be soon. THANKS to all who contributed to this post.. Until next time*******.
