1820 HP 505 CID pump gas engine
Scott Brown at Competition Components just finished up a 505 E-85 build using aftermarket RAV heads. Bore was 4.310 and used a 4.25 stroke. Heads were ported by a board member here (hopefully he chimes in) and the cam was just right for the application.... Torque was stout!

To answer some questions
Yes, they are DCI head castings I believe the engine is going into a 68-72 Pro Street style A-body I have a video of a power pull and the engine idling but can't figure out how to post them here..... I don't think we can post videos. i82much...... Joe mama Last edited by PAUL K; 04-28-2024 at 11:02 PM. |

Scott is top notch. I picked up just at 50 hp and 50 ft lbs using a hyd roller cam he spec'd for me over a larger solid lifter cam in my stock bottom end, 557 block 406. I would recommend him to anyone.

It's a power sucking crankshaft snapper. Used to be pretty common until the turbo and centrifugal monsters culled most of the herd.

Very nice results at a very mild boost number. Congrats to Scott and Don S. on a super cool build using some very special custom pieces.
Not sure how many on here remember or were at Norwalk a few years ago when DCI Don brought the first load of his RAV heads to the pits that year. The entire back of his SUV was full of V heads. …The heads on this blown hot rod are from that first load. IMHO excellent quality casting with accurate dimensions and machine work. Castings were easy to port and to finish for the application. Street car???!!! Go to it!
