Default Dash Gauge Bezel Color

1966 Lemans - is the outer perimeter of the dash bezel and the ashtray supposed to be body color, like the metal dash?

Beautiful interior, Jeff!

Somewhere along the way mine was painted exterior color, to include the bottom of the dash bezel. Trying to decide how to proceed. If I’m reading data tag correctly, it was a Martinique Bronze exterior and Bronze interior.

Currently it’s a black interior with metal surfaces painted purple, like the exterior. The ashtray is missing and when I replace it I either have to paint it purple to match the rest of the metal surfaces of the interior (don’t know the paint code) or paint the bottom of dash bezel black to match the ashtray. Wondering if the latter will look ok. Of course I can do it the hard way and paint all metal surfaces black but not looking to do that at this point.
