LED lights
I put in LED headlights and also swapped to LED tail lights. The question I have relates to the tail lights. First, the LH side are brighter than the RH side. With the standard bulbs they appeared the same to me. Also, the LH turn flasher only works if the headlight switch is off. The RH side flasher works with the switch off or on. I know that the standard flashers aren't always compatible with LEDs so hopefully that's all I need.
Pic of tail lights with LED on the RH side, standard LH. Pic of LEDS on both sides. LH much brighter. Pic of the headlight difference. LED RH. Looks brighter but it's also a different color. First pic is standard, second is brights.

I had to change at least one flasher before the signal worked properly but I changed all my lites to LED. Can't comment on brite issue. Maybe you has some cheese on yer ground on that side? Also the blubs can be wonky if the polarity is wrong.

Poor ground I say. Put the LEDs In my car. Head and taillights are fine, flasher works also.

So how do I chase that down? Is there a ground for that harness, and if so where? I'll check for polarity also. Thanks.

LED’s can sometimes cause issues because of their low resistance. I had a 2003 Dodge truck blow a turn signal bulb so I decided to replace all the turn signal bulbs with LEDs. Problem is, the truck was thinking that all the bulb were blown because it was giving me the “fast flash” when I activated the signal.

So you don't have an issue with the headlights, right?
Are the plastic taillight lenses the same? The red LED lit is very pure and may look different thru a plastic variation? George

Yes, the headlights are working properly. Yes, I think the tail light lenses are the same. I didn't see any difference with the standard bulbs, but they were so much dimmer that it may not have been as obvious. Where is the flasher located?

On a '67 the turn signal flasher locates in a clip on the inside of the metal dash so the metal tends to enhance the clicking noise of the flasher. The hazard flasher plugs into the fuse box.

On the 74 there is one on the fuse panel and the second one (that I actually changed) in a wiring loom close to it.

Thanks. I ordered some new LED flashers from Ames. We'll see how that goes.

One of my flashers was stuck in the fuse panel and refused to come out. Maybe it rusted in there. Anyway, I only needed to change the one on the wiring loom to get the flashers working properly.

That was it. I should have checked that first. I put in a new LED flasher and no go. Then I switched polarity and it was fine. Thanks for the tip.
