DAMN....If only I was in a better position to do something with that... Although I'm sure if legit the price is going to go away up.
That's one of my dream cars, a Mayfair Maize 65 tri-power 4 speed!

Its got some weirdness to it.
Not a speck of Mayfair color anywhere. You'd think in that rough of shape there would be some signs here or there at least between the dark aqua and the rust spots , or fender jambs. Maybe it was restored in the 80's and they stripped it to metal and did good prep in the jambs. Then it somehow sat in a mud puddle for a couple or few decades. Never seen a front bumper get that bad. Long block and radiator and finger guard are legit 65 3x2. Says they are awaiting PHS It looks like it was a factory dark aqua body but the trim tag appears original. Firewall has been repainted in the past so maybe it was a fairly proud resto years and years ago. |

I agree interesting car, I am betting on a flood damaged car after a restoration was done. I agree the Mayfair Maze it a great color on 65's. Current location is near Mobile AL, so I bet it was flooded out in one of the Hurricanes that hit the area in the last 20 years.
That front bumper is strange, but salt water flooding does alot more damage long term than fresh water flood damage.

Maybe it was a former serious class racer and the bumpers were acid dipped really thin and rechromed back when .
That's a stretch ,,,, probably saltwater flooded a few times. They sure were stingy with pictures. Listed it as soon as they got it loaded on the truck apparently. |

69 Firebird convertible in Florida at $63K BIN. We've seen this one before, and sometimes people will take lower offers if it's been on the market for a while. Pretty car.

I disagree; to me the 69 front end looks like a quick slap together of parts. The prevoius 2 years had a far better integrated look.

Beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.
Like you, I think the 70-73 Firebirds were the highlight of the F bodies and I think the 62 GP was the best of the B's. and of course I'm a little biased towards the 68/69 A body.

I think maybe it's that the chrome bumper blends with some colors better than others. Like the blue. It doesn't hurt the look as much as, say, Goldenrod.
And by the way, it's not that I dislike the 69 it's just that it's my least favorite of the first generation f bodyies.
