Not sure who would take on a project like this, but I know there's more than a few. 57 Pontiac Chieftain at $7.5K BIN OBO in SC.

I don't understand why someone would offer a car and not have any documents verifying the car?
Or cowl tag?
Or VIN? (on car)
Or says PHS but no PHS pic?
There are so many plain jane 'TAs' out there.
For that money one would be crazy unless they inspect it 1st?

Way too much for condition and a non-running unoriginal engine.
Cars stored in those conditions always have multitudes of invisible needs.

It may not be NM. but a 100% NM car is in a different class costing more $$. Agree it's on the high side, but I'd love to own this car. It is a real 455 HO Trans AM 4 speed, which isn't all hot rodded up.

I'll assume you mean the one below. This is how I value cars. What is it? It's a real 1970 GTO convertible. Probably $13.5K based on that. It has a drive train, but there's no carb on it, so water has been allowed to run into the intake and onto the pistons. Still, it has an engine, so +$2K. The frame has rust that will need to be taken care of, and probably includes quarter panels (from Kansas). You have to do a lot of nasty work (-$4K for the frame and -$6K for the quarters for me, may be a wash for you?). The guy I bought my 69 Firebird from took the frame off and did the entire thing, which is why I bought it. The interior is nice enough and all there without a massive drink holder in the center, so +$3K for that. Finally, when this car is finished, after all that work, is this the car I really wanted to end up with? If the answer to that question is yes, then add that amount to your total. For me, I wouldn't want a car like this. When you're done, it's still not NM. Worth more than a clone, but clones cost less to build and don't require paint and quarter panels, so do the math, because they're fun to own. You can add disc brakes, PS and handling stuff if you want to, but because it's not a real GTO, it's game on. If you're looking to flip a car like this you can, if you do a really horrible job, which is where this car may wind up? Without the NM drive train, it can only be so much. I hope someone saves it and takes the Judge crap off of it.

Here's a real war horse. 70 Lemans in NY from a seller with 0 feedback for $3.8K NR. This is how a Pontiac earned a reputation for being reliable. Rode hard and put up wet, I wouldn't want it, but I do appreciate it. Rust is killer and the smell of that interior has got to be dank.

That 70 LeMans is interesting.
I'd like to see the PHS or buildsheet on that.
A Canada built car.

69 Firebird clone in Illinois at $40K BIN. Look at the pic of the rear. Does that look symmetrical? How about the hood stripes. Does that look right? Has an LS engine, and for a clone I'm ok with. The interior looks too shiny, which can be fixed, just like that crap B&M shifter that needs to be replaced. Good and bad, because the body looks tight, but not worth the asking IMO.

69 Firebird 350 4-speed in Pennsylvania at $35K BIN. OK, hear me out, it's green ok, and has white 69 Trans AM like Chevyish stripes, but has a 400 hood. Wait, it gets better, follow the stripes back to the trunk where they cross a Camaro fin! Cool right? I love how they classify its imperfections as "housekeeping items" like rust isn't a thing. I'm being harsh and whoever built this didn't make any money. The stink on this one is not following the stock look and now someone else has to love your dream creation. It's not priced too high for what it is. I can live with imperfections, but those white stripes have to go.

1961 Bonneville bubble top in Minnesota at $25K BIN. All kinds of cool. I love this car. You couldn't build this for 2X the asking price. Good deal if this is your jam.

69 Firebird convertible in Washington for $55K. Nice car, but the deviations kill it. T/A wing looks horrible, the dash gauges randomly added move it away from stock, upgraded brakes which is a plus, and that shiny chrome air cleaner and bling looks awesome for anyone who doesn't know crap about building an engine. Lots of hate I know... it's me. This is a nice car, but not $55K nice to buy your dream. It costs $$$ to build a car like this, but you need to be onboard with the mods and share that dream.
