Seems local media guy is going to be in the Keilbasa Festival parade and wants to ride in a 1966 GTO convertible. Anyone nearby?
Beyond the Byline: Who has a ‘66 light blue GTO convertible? https://www.timesleader.com/news/166...to-convertible

"my ideal car would be a 1966 Pontiac GTO, light blue, white rag top, white interior"
Does he want that with or without the optional tissue dispenser?

That’s hilarious.
You’d think that a guy at his stage of life could afford to own one exactly like the one he had as a young man. A good example would cost about the same as any mid-level sports car or SUV that he’s probably driving now. This is a joke and he should be embarrassed putting that article out there, to the point of being picky about the color combination of the car? The true definition of ridiculous. ![]() Entitled much?

Did anyone posting comments
bother to actually read the link ? I did - the recollections of a time gone by are nice - the author is asking for the impossible with regards for his high school car to complete his stroll down memory lane. But he does not come off as arrogant or condescending. Nice article. Jim

I posted it because I got a nice chuckle out of it. The guy is waxing nostalgic about his hometown and his fond memories. I do the same whenever I drive through my hometown

Disappointed nobody came through with a GTO, but Bill looks thrilled nonetheless. We'll chalk it up as a happy ending

It seems it was a serious request and the guy ended up riding in a blue convertible anyway. I guess the Pontiac people were too busy making fun of the guy on other forums to actually help. I'll bet the Chevelle didn't have a red Buick air cleaner decal or a Hurst Equipped badge on the decklid.

![]() Yeah I guess all the light blue ‘66 GTO convertibles with white tops and interiors wouldn’t have been quite up to par with their Buick air cleaner decals so they didn’t apply for parade duty. ![]() Seriously.

I was responding to Geeteeohguy's dickish comments but thanks for chiming in Bart. Half the posts in this thread were positive and the other half weren't. I didn't take the guy's comments as arrogant, but again half of the posters did. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one

Glad to see he got his wish, but at no time did
he ever mention that he is, umm... plus sized. Can't help but notice the Chevelle owner didn't let him sit on the convertible top. |
