Default 1965 Transistor Voltage Regulator Availabilty

I've done a search and can't find a definite answer. I know in 1965 you could order a transistor voltage regulator as a stand alone option, but could you order it on a car with air conditioning? I was reading in another thread pertaining to 1964's, and 1965's were mentioned, but it seemed to indicate that it could not be ordered alone on a car with A/C. I have another 65 with A/C that has a transistor voltage regulator, but it also has transistor ignition. Does anyone have any more insight?
