Default Factory starter motor: Wire clocking and terminal attachments

The summit woven heat wrap is a perfect fit in the Ames repro cable tube, too, so there will be much more than the factory heat protection from top to bottom.

Saw an earlier post on wire clocking, any hints on that are much appreciated.

Also, please confirm that the purple tracer wire goes to the B terminal, right of main connection, as you are facing the solenoid.

Final question: any chances the dead short that led to this replacement would fry the alternator or regulator along the way? I can't imagine it would be any help... thoughts and experience from similar issues will help!

Thanks!
