Default New 535 won’t run

Fresh build IA2 535 with KRE HP heads, Dominator carb, MSD 7AL3 and crank trigger. Timing set to 32 degrees. Engines sputters a couple times then just cranks. Sometimes backfire through carb a couple times then just cranks. Have spark and fuel (have not checked spark during extended cranking, afraid to crank to much). MSD box and trigger came from previous car (more then 10 years ago), could this be problem? Thanks,

Bob

Has to be either the box, trigger, coil or the distributor is 180 out. Otherwise it should immediately start. How is the quality of the spark from the plug wires?

Spark seems okay, just using in line tester but it is pretty bright when sparks. I set the timing by using balancer with 360 degree markings, assumed 0 degrees is TDC, valves are also both closed at this point so I assumed compression stroke. I then turn motor to 32 degrees and lined up crank trigger magnet on this. Been a long time since I have done this so my assumptions could be wrong (not first time in my life ). Thanks!
