Some of Crower’s lifters are made by Johnson. They are advertised as such.

The only reason to purchase matched cam and lifters from the same cam company is for warranty reasons.

A few years ago Hy-lift Johnson raised their prices considerably, approximately fifty percent. They, already were the most expensive non-specialty lifters before the price increase.

If you buy lifters from any company (even Speed Master) for $125 they're not going to be Hy-lift Johnson re-boxed lifters. However they do pop up in clearance sales and swap meets once in a while.
