Does anyone have the felpro part number for the Pontiac thermostat gasket? The last time I needed a gasket I had trouble finding the number for just a gasket. Had to pull one out of a kit.

That is a nice one. I got a nice Canton billet one. It has an Oring which sealed perfectly after I experienced nothing but leaks with the cheap cast version. It does go straight up but is fine compared to the 15deg from vertical stock one.

Hey thank you for the offer! I’ve actually made a couple extra with some gasket material so I’m good for now. I was hoping to get the felpro part number because they use to be available specifically for Pontiacs with the correct bolt spacing. Seems like the only ones I could find were a universal style with slotted holes.

I’ve used both the aluminum and cast iron water necks and haven’t had an issue with leaks ever since I started sanding the gasket surface to ensure flat, using the Permatex thermostat and waterpump RTV (no gasket), and not over tightening.

If anyone was curious, like I was, it appears no aftermarket T-stat housing gaskets are Pontiac specific, they’re universal slotted hole jobs.

If one wants a dedicated gasket, one has to patronize Butler, KRE, BOP, etc. as they all appear to have them. Probably all made by one place, TIP I would assume?

Eventually I'd like to add a laser cutter to my shop, sure would be nice to be able to cut gaskets out of any material you want, sized perfectly to any application. Laser cutters capable of cutting gasket material are well within the $1000 price range.

I use a chevy chrome housing with the o ring. Only modification was to use a rat tail file and elongate the mtg. Hole pattern out a little bit for pontiac bolt pattern. The amount is so small that the bolt heads still cover it. Also I use 240 sandpaper on flat steel sanding block to make sure it's good and flat

These chrome T-stat housings are usually a universal fit for most GM vehicles that use this angle housing, on all the Mr Gasket ones I used they didnt say pontiac on the package but never had to elongate the bolt holes, they mount to a pontiac intake without any issues in my experience.

But, looking at summit, they have a Trans-Dapt brand that says its for pontiac V8, most others say for big/small block chevy...
