I removed the stainless trim that covers the top of the windshield frame on my 66 2+2 Convertible. Underneath I found a seal or cushion 9 1/2 inches long at each end. If it was a seal, you would think it would go all the way across. Anyway, I was looking for something to replace it with. Ive looked at Right Way, Steele, and Metro with no success. It is triangular in profile and appears to be hollow. Dimensions are 3/4 x 1/2. Granted it has been compressed for some time. So, it might have been 3/4 x 3/4 new. Attached are a few photos. Your help is appreciated.

Don't have a 2+2, but on my 64 Lemans there was just a thick seam sealer product under that header panel. I haven't seen foam products there. Try to find an assembly manual and see if it is shown there.

I think it is Steele that if you send them a sample they would either find you something close or make it for you. Have you asked any of the companies?

I have not actually spoke with the three companies I referred to below. I have gone through their catalogs for the profile I was looking for.
Regarding the manuals, I have the Chassis manual and the Service manual. I wasn't aware of the other manual. Is the Assembly manual the same asbthe installation manual? |
