Inquiry among the community: what is the latest wisdom on the best low/no drone muffler for a 1979 W72 TA SE 4-speed with a Pypes 2.5” system with down pipes and x-pipe with stock manifolds and stock cam?
When I bought the Pypes system, I included the Turbo Pro mufflers, but they have turned out to have a significant drone at 45-50 mph. Would like to replace them and I see positive reviews of the Pypes Race Pros and Dynomax Turbo Flow’s (14 in.). Any thoughts on those or more current other options to achieve good flow, and no drone? Kindly advise. Thanks so much. |

I have the Walker Super Turbo 14" mufflers on my 1976 Firebird. 2 1/2" duals with X pipe. Nice sound, not too loud. Haven't noticed drone.

Straight through SS Borlas, no drone. Quiet at idle. Love them. Nice growl when you get on it.
Million mile warranty. |
