Default Anyone mount a subwoofer in their first gen?

Thinking about mounting an 8" subwoofer in my 67 for just a little bit more audio punch. I like more rock sound, so I don't need anything big and boomy.

Anyone done this? Where did you put it? I thought about maybe on the trunk divider, or possibly something under the seat, or ??? My truck has a small sub in the console, but 67 consoles are so shallow I don't think there is space there.

Thanks!

I have a 10" in my truck in a 20X13X13 box that thumps pretty good.

A 10" JLAudio in the trunk with built in amplifier is ideal. Mount it up on the ledge behind rear seat. Plenty of thump without being obnoxious and fits up there quite well. Secure it with brackets and bolts through the rear divider bracing.

This is what I’m planning on doing.

I had a GLI with a factory subwoofer for a while that had it mounted to the bottom of the package tray. Always sounded nice and it doesn’t interfere with anything in the trunk.

Hmmm... Package tray undermount. I thought maybe vertically on the divider, but maybe the package tray...

I want a smaller sub, an active unit. I found some that are less than 3" thick, in the neighborhood of 400w.

I appreciate the ideas and discussion, guys!
