Default Arnie "the farmer" Beswick Day

Today in the mail I was happy to receive my annual Christmas card from Arnie Beswick. I am pretty sure I have all 30 of his cards starting in 1994 when he sent me the first one. Up until this year they always also included a personalized message along with a more standard letter about the prior years events and interesting stuff he has been up to. This year, although not personalized it included a copy of the Arnie "the Farmer" Beswick Proclamation for November 9. 2024. From some of the included pics, it looks like many members of his extended family were able to attend. CONGRATULATIONS TO ARNIE BESWICK. You certainly deserve this honor. It has been an honor to race with you for over 3 decades.

I think the mold was broken after he was born!!!
When I met him at the Ames Nats a couple of years ago, he talked to everyone like he had known them for years!
He is an amazing man for sure!

So my birthday, then Arnie day, then USMC birthday. Three days of celebration.

Wow that’s a really cool honor to be bestowed on Arnie. Very cool

My dad had a 56 D500-1 dodge convertible. A very rare car. It was interesting to find out that Arnie also raced one early on in 56. It was actually one of arnies favorite cars. I know this is. Pontiac site but it’s nice to know extra about Arnie.
The D500 was a mean hemi but the 500- 1 made it a dual quad version which was as rare as it got.

The parallels are funny too because I have a RAV that’s the same as one Arnie raced which was also the dual quad version of the RAV . So we have 2 factory VERY RARE dual quad engines in common w Arnie of differnt makes.

Years ago when I was a young pup I used to call Arnie and he’d help me w my RAIV combination w info. Mid 90s
I had no idea about his D500-1 or his dual quad RAV at the time or I’d have certainly had that conversation with him.

He was ALWAYS a really cool guy to talk with when I called

He was racing at either Wichita or ARK City, few years back. He was doing a burnout and the car spun around and ever so slightly bumped the guard rail (he had his foot on the brake). He backed up went back to the starting line and made a pass, no big deal.

I met Arnie a few years ago at the PY show in Hatfield. I think it was the second to the last show they had, or it was the last show. One very nice guy that would actually talk with you about anything. And didn't try to shove you away to get rid of you.

I have a Limited Edition 1:18 scale model of his 421ci Blue 62 Catalina with Seltzer Pontiac Chicago, Illinois on the doors. Along with Mr. B's Passionate Pontiac on the rear quarters. And hopefully I can find the red and white tiger striped Catilina for my collection. His last car I believe.

I'm trying to get the photo off of my phone and post it here. Soon hopefully.
