Default 68 LeMans Plant Question

This is from the Thews thread on the 68 LeMans Convertible:

Quote:
68 Lemans convertible 3 speed stick at $32K in Illinois. Cool car.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/35645472734...Bk9SR9CLxbaKZQ

The BHC has the 'To' as 20 and the 'From' as 19, but the plant for the LeMans is 'R' Arlington? Which is '42'?

Maryland is 19
Massachusetts is 20

The dealer codes are zone 01 Dealer # 677
Zone 01 would be good for '20' in the To section

Body was built in Baltimore.
Did they ship the body to Texas for assembly, OR is the V.I.N. fake?

No. Bodies were not built in one location and shipped elsewhere for final assembly. (Buicks - yes; Pontiacs - no).

If there is a mismatch between the cowl tag and the VIN that's an instant red flag that something has been swapped.

They made a typo listing the VIN
It's a B car , not an R car

Thanks, BVZ.

I looked at it originally, but looking closer at it now, it does look like it could be a B.
