I agree, even with the vinyl top I would be very tempted by that 72 if it were within an hour or so from me!

And it does not state it is a Numbers Matching Engine, but says it comes with a 73 455 engine. Also that is alot of rust for a NM car. It could be a nice car, but with the work it needs I think $28K is at least 2X what its worth.

It's obvious the seller doesn't know Pontiacs very well, especially TA's. The std. 455 for '73 in the TA was the same lo-po 455 4-bbl you could get in any body style that year. He's confusing his ad by calling it an HO like its predecessors in 71-72 and the 75-76 455 HO (even though not real HO engines either). He even calls the scoop a "hood bubble"...geez!

Well in his defense the HO naming is confusing for the layman and at least the hood isn't bubbling under the lack of paint lol

The car has been set up for drag racing so the doors are welded shut.

Not for drag racing? I think it is illegal to race that way?
Demolition derby or roundy round possibly.

EDIT: Wrote above before looking at all pics. The doors open, so don't know why he wrote that?

HIGH VALUE PROJECT CAR. 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Hurst T-Tops Edition (Note: the Hurst T-tops are smaller than the non-Hurst model cars). It features a high-performance street pump gas 600hp 455 Engine with Edelbrock Ram Air IV style Heads, High performance turbo 400 with Gear Vendors Overdrive unit. It has Currie Enterprises 9-inch Ford Posi rear end with 3:70 gears (stock replacement). This car was totally restored in 2003 and driven around the block and parked in a garage but got water damaged by a leaky garage roof. Has some rust spots and now it needs to be cleaned up and restored again. The engine was built by Pontiac Specialist Rock n Roll Engineering in Grand Terrace, Ca. The engine features a 4-bolt main with forged rods and bolts, Roller hydraulic camshaft with full roller rocker arms. The heads are mild ported. Everything in the drive train was new and high quality but the ENGINE needs to be the refreshed up again. To build an engine like this one it will cost at least $12,000 plus $3500 Transmission, plus $3500 the Gear Vendors Overdrive unit, plus $4500 the FORD 9-inch rear end assembly. It comes with an extra body shell for parts. The engine & transmission is out of the car and also the interior. It's not running, it will need towing. The sale is as is. This is a valuable restoration project car. The price is $18,500. Cash only in person. The last pics are of different Hurst Edition car currently for sale on another site (look at the price and T-Tops) for comparison purposes only. Text first for more info to /90 9/ 223/ 43 / 2 zero.

They refer to the shaker scoop as a "hood bubble"... so of course the 455 is a HO..
